Most auto accidents happen because of human error. Too often, however, serious and even deadly auto accidents take place and the victims were never to blame.
Equipment failure is often the reason why accidents take place. In other cases, equipment failure happens and safety features that are supposed to ensure occupants are protected do not work. These issues should never be ignored. That’s why we urge you to never ignore a recall campaign that impacts a vehicle you own and drive regularly.
The latest reports coming from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that a series of Mercedes-Benz vehicles are being recalled.
To Prevent Auto Accidents, Respond to Recall Campaigns Promptly
The official announcement has indicated that Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC has recently indicated that its 2015 Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vehicles are being recalled over an issue with the model’s doors. An abutting wedge that has been developed to ensure that the opening of the doors is easier in the case of a frontal impact may have been installed incorrectly. The issue is mostly due to the fact that the device may not help to make the opening easier. In the event of an auto accident, occupants may have to use extra force to open the doors.
This risk could eventually lead to personal injuries.
Vehicles impacted by this campaign include cars manufactured between July 1, 2014 and October 14, 2014.
Consumers are being warned to not ignore this recall. The company will be contacting impacted car owners. Vehicles should be inspected at dealers where the installation of the abutting wedge will be verified. If necessary, the devices will be corrected for free.
Making sure you have the vehicle repaired promptly will help you to make sure that auto accidents are prevented. Owners are also urged to contact the company if they have any further questions regarding this recall.
The official campaign to contact all impacted vehicle owners should begin in March of 2015. If you would like to learn more about the campaign, make sure to follow this link.
Stay alert. Auto accidents often happen because equipment issues are not discovered until crashes take place and consumers are directly impacted.
Downloading the NHTSA app could help you to prevent auto accidents linked to equipment failure. If you have access to a smartphone, the app will help you by giving you firsthand information concerning recent recall reports if you just give the app your car’s license plate number.
